The easiest way to give a third-party access to the web files in a specific folder is to create an FTP account and to specify content access restrictions in regard to your web hosting space. If you use the services of a web designer, for example, they will not be given access to any other files or any sensitive details in your hosting account. You can also create separate FTP accounts to run a number of Internet sites built with a desktop web design application like Dreamweaver or FrontPage – each site can be launched online and then modified using an FTP account with access to its very own site folder on the server. All these things will be possible as long as you are able to create and administer your FTP accounts without any effort.
